For the manufacture of our products, we rely on ingredients such as palm oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil and olive oil. We ensure that we source our ingredients responsibly and sustainably. We are a member of the Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and have made the organization's requirements our own. This means that our company makes no contribution to deforestation, habitat destruction or biodiversity loss.
Palm oil is an integral part of the Upfield product portfolio. As a proud member of the round table for sustainable palm oil, we already have a usage rate of 100% certified palm oil. We believe that the sustainable palm oil we use is preferable to other oils when viewed from an environmental, taste, performance and health perspective. With this cornerstone of our sustainability strategy, we not only ensure that the palm oil used in our products comes from sustainable sources, but also that Upfield actively drives change in the palm oil sector.
Accordingly, in response to the devastating impacts of deforestation, Upfield is wholly committed to responsibly sourcing its ingredients, including palm oil, soybean oil, and packaging materials such as pulp and paper, and vets partners to verify compliance with our policies and maintain transparency. By doing this, we ensure deforestation doesn’t take place due to the Upfield supply chain and help to drive industry transformation.
